Walkie Talkie is a feature that lets Duress Falcon and Duress Eagle users talk directly with each other by speaking into the device and recording a message.
This feature is currently only available for Duress Eagle as a Beta version. Please reach out to Duress Partnerships to activate this feature on your devices.
Accessing Walkie Talkie Settings
You can access your Walkie Talkie settings under Settings > Walkie Talkie Settings in the Duress Admin Portal
Changing Messaging Settings
Under "Settings" you can change the following settings:
Private Messages
Enable private messaging between users. If you don't check any option, private messaging is disabled for everyone.
Group Messages
Enable group messaging between users. If you don't check any option, group messaging is disabled for everyone.
Message Style
Determine how new incoming messages are displayed on the device. Messages are sent by recording
- Text only: The message will be transcribed via Voice-to-Text and shown as text only.
- Audio only: The device will play the voice message when the user decides to play it.
- Audio autoplay: The device will play the voice message as it comes in.
- Audio autoplay with text: The device will play the voice message as it comes in and also transcribe the voice message via Voice-to-Text.
Sending Messages
Decide how the device behaves when a message gets recorded and sent. The device will always show a visual confirmation on the screen.
- Chime: The device will play a short sound when a message gets sent or recorded.
- Vibrate: The device will vibrate when a message gets sent or recorded.
Receiving Messages
Decide how the device behaves when a new message comes in. The device will always show a visual confirmation on the screen.
- Chime: The device will play a short sound when there is a new incoming message.
- Vibrate: The device will vibrate when there is a new incoming message.
