Due to built-in security measures put in place by Apple, iPhone users need to be aware of some special requirements to ensure that the Duress App can run smoothly with the Duress Phoenix.

Have Duress running in the Background

iPhone users need to have the Duress App running in the background for the Duress™ Phoenix Card to activate Check-Ins, Team Alerts or Emergencies.

Once the Duress App is running in the background of your iPhone, you can activate Check-Ins and Team Alerts with your Duress Phoenix.

To activate an emergency with your Duress Phoenix, you'll need to have Duress running in the background AND unlock your iPhone.

Set Location Settings to "Always"

Make sure your location settings are set to "Always" for the Duress App. This ensures that Duress can access your GPS location when activating an alert with the Duress Phoenix.

No emergency video footage when iPhone is locked

If you activate an Emergency with Duress Phoenix, and your iPhone is locked, we do not have access to your audio or camera footage. This means, the Duress Operators will not be able to view any visual footage or audio. They will, however, still be able to see your GPS location.

Unlock your iPhone to stream audio and video footage to our Operators.
