Learn what App licenses are, how to allocate them to your teams and how to troubleshoot common licencing issues.
An app license is essentially the subscription that is purchased which grants your users access to the Duress App. Licenses are interchangeable between users, however you can only have as many active users as you have licenses. In order to invite a new user, you have to have licenses available.

Viewing available Licenses
To view available licenses, select the section "All App Licenses" from the navigation on the left hand side. You'll see the the licenses available at the top of the page.
Allocating Licenses
The dashboard automatically allocates available app licenses into your different teams proportionately. This means that if you have 100 licenses and 10 teams, it will allocate 10 licenses into each team.
You can adjust this automatic allocation in the tab 'Manage App Licenses'.
💡 Allocating licenses may be useful if you have multiple people managing your teams. This way you can decide how many licenses each team is allowed to use out of your pool of licenses.
Troubleshooting unavailable Licenses
If you are receiving an error message and unable to invite users into a team despite having enough licenses available, you may have to raise the license cap.
- Open the "Manage App Licenses" tab on the menu on the left hand side
- Find the team you want to add users to
- In the "Team Limit" field, enter the amount of users currently in the team PLUS the number of users you would like to invite (e.g., if you have 13 users currently in the team and want to invite 6 more, you will need to enter 19 in the license cap field)
- Click Save to update the Team Limit
